Spring Clean - Day of Action

We are participating in the National Spring Clean in association with An Taisce on Wednesday 6th April 2016. The objective of the clean-up is: • To heighten awareness of litter and waste issues • To encourage a clean-up • To promote sustained, practical involvement in looking after the environment (school environment) • To highlight the importance of recycling and re-using PLEASE NOTE: All pupils working in the outdoors MUST wear protective clothing i.e. gloves and a hi-vis bib/jacket Hands should be washed before and after handling litter. Do not eat or drink without washing hands thoroughly. Any cuts or grazes should be carefully covered up at home before the clean-up event with waterproof plasters. Parent’s have been advised to inform the teachers in writing about allergies the children may be subject to, before the clean-up. If possible, Children should bring in yard brushes, shovels, garden spades, basins, buckets, dustpans, gloves, planters, old newspapers, plants, compost, bedding plants, seeds, bulbs, cleaning agents, brillo pads, litter pickers & scrubbers. All personal items & items to be returned should be clearly labelled We look forward to participating in this exciting event!!
