Earth Day 2015 Update

Earth Day took place on the 22^nd of April 2015. To celebrate this day, we participated in various activities. Some of the activities we took part in include;

·         A pledge to care for the environment

·         Nature walks around the school grounds

·         Listen to the sounds of the birds - we even heard the cuckoo!

·         Discussed farm animals in the local community

·         Observed the leaves and buds on the trees – compared evergreen to deciduous

·         Energy check throughout the school

·         Explored carbon footprints

·         E.A.C audit

·         Writing acrostic poetry

·         Recital of poetry and rhymes

·         Crosswords & word searches

·         Study of and demonstration of the water cycle

·         Investigation of the Bug Hotel & mini beasts

·         Planting of strawberry plants, potatoes, parsley & lettuce (Incredible Edibles)

Earth Day was a very enjoyable and memorable occasion.
