recycled percussion instruments

As part of our Green School and recycling ethos we asked children in the younger classes to construct a homemade percussion instrument. This is any kind of a safe object that creates a sound, using recycled materials. e.g. shaker/drum All instruments were created using plastic bottles, cardboard boxes and various other materials e.g. coins, rice, rubber bands, paperclips, pasta pieces etc. Following completion of this project Children accompanied a musical recital using their percussion instruments. The results were amazing. The sounds were incredible. Well done to all the boys and girls and their parents. Your constant support and cooperation is very much appreciated. This was also part of the children's music and science programme.
